The AMEC’s Women Who Lead Board Invites You To

GENDER BIAS IN MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT

The Women Who Lead Board of the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel invite you to join us on March 14th, 2017 for Gender Bias in Media and Entertainment with Special Guest Speaker, Madeline Di Nonno, Executive Director of The Geena Davis Institute. Men and Women welcome.

The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media researches how media portrays women and girls and how negative gender stereotypes influence cultural and social behavior and beliefs.  This Elimination of Bias MCLE accredited event will cover gender bias towards women in entertainment based on how they are portrayed by the media.  Ms. Di Nonno will also discuss gender stereotype research conducted by The Geena Davis Institute, such as stereotypical occupations of women in family films and how this impacts the next generation’s view of what women are capable of doing.  We will also cover how we as a profession can help to change the status quo. Men and Women welcome.
