2025 Counsel of the Year Awards

Postponement of AMEC’s 20th Anniversary Counsel of the Year Awards

After much deliberation and heartfelt consultation, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the AMEC 20th Anniversary Counsel of the Year Awards. Originally scheduled for next week, the event will now take place on March 6, 2025.

In reaching this decision, we spoke with our honorees, sponsors, board members, and guests. As the events unfolded over the past 24 hours, the scale of the devastation became even more apparent, far exceeding what we initially understood.  While a few even lost their homes, virtually all were impacted by the personal losses experienced by family, friends and colleagues.

Beyond these personal tragedies, the fires have also had a significant impact on the entertainment industry as a whole. Even today, evacuations are being ordered as the Eaton Canyon fire threatens critical television and radio transmission towers in the mountains. The immense disruption to our industry cannot be overstated, and under these dramatic and tragic circumstances, the word “celebration” feels entirely out of place.

While we could have proceeded with the event as planned, we chose instead to prioritize the well-being of our community. We believe it is more important at this moment to give our members, honorees, and sponsors the time and space to focus on healing, renewal, and supporting those who have been profoundly affected by this tragedy.

We are deeply grateful for the understanding and compassion of everyone impacted by this postponement. Your continued support means the world to us, and we ask you to join us in extending love, kindness, and prayers to all those within and beyond our community who are grappling with the consequences of this monumental disaster.

Thank you for standing with us during this challenging time. We look forward to coming together in a few months to honor not only the achievements of our honorees but also the resilience and unity of our community.
