The Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel (AMEC) has announced a trio of honorees for its 2023 Counsel of the Year Awards. AMEC has designated the following honorees:

Carolyn Hampton began her career as an entertainment attorney at Katten Muchin Zavis & Weitzman and worked under the supervision of legendary trial attorney Howard Weitzman. She then distinguished herself at Universal Studios and Warner Bros., before joining Paramount. In accepting the award, Carolyn stated, “On behalf of my colleagues and team at Paramount, I am humbled to have been selected by my peers for this honor. I have been an AMEC supporter since its formation and believe deeply in its mission to support the professional development of in-house counsel at media and entertainment companies.”

Patricia (Patty) Lombard has a long record of service to the entertainment industry. She launched the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival and since moving to California, Patty has been a trustee of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and co-editor and publisher of the Larchmont Buzz that provides online news coverage of Larchmont Village, Hancock Park, and the Greater Wilshire areas of Los Angeles. Most recently, Patty served as President of the Ebell of Los Angeles, a women-led and women-centered nonprofit housed in a historic campus in the Mid-Wilshire section of Los Angeles, with numerous performance spaces, meeting rooms, classrooms, and a 1,238-seat theatre. Patty emphasized “It is an honor to accept the AMEC Founder’s Award, as its first female recipient. Throughout my career, I have sought to create opportunities for women and I thank AMEC for all that it has done to support the personal and professional development of women attorneys in the entertainment industry.”
