SETH STEVELMAN, RECIPIENT OF THE 2024 LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT COUNSEL AWARD
Seth Stevelman is Managing Vice President & Counsel for Disney Entertainment Television. He represents the various Disney television studios – including ABC Signature, 20th Television, FX Productions and Disney Branded Television, along with the ABC Network and the ABC-owned broadcast station division – in collective bargaining negotiations with various unions and guilds throughout North America, as well as in grievance, arbitration and other administrative matters. Seth is responsible for interpreting and providing ongoing advice to the company’s various business units, including business and legal affairs, production, finance, marketing and distribution, in order to comply with the many applicable labor agreements that govern all aspects of television and new media productions. He has also served as a trustee on multiple pension, health and 401K funds covering employees who work in the entertainment and broadcast industries for nearly 15 years and is currently the Chair of the DGA Producer Pension and Health Plans for the 2024-2025 term.
Prior to joining Disney, Seth was a labor and employment attorney with Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp in Los Angeles and with Proskauer Rose in Los Angeles and New York. Seth received his JD degree from Harvard Law School. After graduating from law school, Seth clerked for the Hon. Virginia A. Phillips, U.S. District Court, Central District of California. He also attended the University of California-Davis where he received a BS in Mathematics and a BA in Political Science, with honors.
